Madison Wedding Flowers Photoshoot

My friend Renee with Madison Wedding Flowers and I met through this great little creative community called The Rising Tide. I don't remember how I found out about this Facebook group but the idea of "Community over Competition" really resonated with me early on. Jordan and I quickly found the local expression of The Rising Tide here in Madison, WI and realized they meet once a month. Creatives all over the area - some wedding photographers, event planners, florists, custom wedding dress designers... creativity seeping out of every corner of this group.

Back to Renee, I met her through this Tuesdays Together group here in Madison and instantly felt like I really liked who she was/is as a person. It's only an added bonus that she creates these floral pieces that give me heart eyes for days! So when she mentioned having some peonies left over from a wedding and photographing some pieces for her, I was all about it! Take a look at these amazing florals and those herb crowns! Yes please. Renee, you're amazing. Thank you for letting me go to town photographing your floral arrangements!

Madison East Side Wedding Photography | George + Jenny

George and Jenny contacted me less than two months before their wedding date to book me for their wedding and I am so glad I was free for their day. We met up at Graze downtown and we knew instantly that we enjoyed being around the two of them. Their wedding ceremony stared off at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Madison, WI. It was a sunny Madison day with pretty perfect weather! Their reception was at the East Side Club and with good catered by The Underground Food Collective Catering - it's sure to be some of the best reception food you'll have in Madison, WI.

Thank you George and Jenny for having me on your special day! You could have easily passed on a photographer for your wedding day, but I am honored that you chose me to document your wedding.

Bridal Barn and Garden Wedding | Mt. Horeb, WI

This past summer I had the joy to second photograph with Tim Fitch at a wedding at the Bridal Barn and Gardens. This was the first wedding I was able to photography at this barn in Mount Horeb, WI and it did not disappoint. This is seriously such a classic and fun venue and the ceremony view alone is worth it's weight in gold. Here are some of my favorite storytelling images from the day. Thank you Tim for letting me photograph for you!

Winter Downtown Wedding Photography | Madison, Wisconsin

I've always thought winter weddings had a magical feel to them. Maybe it's because the first winter wedding I ever attended was in the Colorado mountains and absolutely delightful. Brides and grooms don't often choose a winter wedding here in Madison, WI - at least from my limited 7 years of living here - but when I am lucky enough to photograph one, It's always a treat. Thankfully their day wasn't too cold and beautifully decorated for Christmas! Check out my favorite images I photographed for Maureen as her second photographer.

The Barn at Casey's Colorado Wedding | Eric + Becky

Jordan and I had the privilege of documenting Eric and Becky's wedding in beautiful Colorado just outside of Woodland Park. The wedding was at The Barn at Casey's Lumber yard and they were surrounded by loving friends and family.

The day was gorgeous but we knew that storms were a very possibly threat. The great thing about Becky is that if she was stressed or worried, it didn't show and her smile and laugh was as wonderful as ever. As it turns out the rain and wind came in full force right as it was time for the ceremony to start. They were ready to see one another and made the tough decision to move everything inside the barn but that didn't stop them from having their perfect wedding day.  Little did we know that Becky's dad collected some of that rain water to give them during his speech (the best speech I've heard in a long time). This day was especially meaningful not just because Eric and Becky were joining lives and committing to one another but also because Becky was making a commitment to Eric's son as well. It's an honor to be asked to document that kind of love. This family was a true joy to work with and I trust these images will be treasured when they look back over the years.

Also, for this wedding Jordan and I did something new and exciting. It's not quite ready yet to share here but I wanted to give a little teaser to keep an eye out for more goodness from this wedding. We put our heart and soul into this wedding and I hope you enjoy seeing what we captured. Enjoy!
