Madison East Side Wedding Photography | George + Jenny

George and Jenny contacted me less than two months before their wedding date to book me for their wedding and I am so glad I was free for their day. We met up at Graze downtown and we knew instantly that we enjoyed being around the two of them. Their wedding ceremony stared off at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Madison, WI. It was a sunny Madison day with pretty perfect weather! Their reception was at the East Side Club and with good catered by The Underground Food Collective Catering - it's sure to be some of the best reception food you'll have in Madison, WI.

Thank you George and Jenny for having me on your special day! You could have easily passed on a photographer for your wedding day, but I am honored that you chose me to document your wedding.

Documentary Family Session | Madison, WI

I don't always love doing family sessions but what I do love is photographing children and not expecting anything from them. Even if they never smile for the camera or look in my direction. I love documenting them and their family as they are. Giving space for them to be them. When my clients give me free reign to do this, I feel like I then am free to blow their socks off with great images. I loved this wonderful little family... and the pour over coffee they made me on the grill.

Winter Downtown Wedding Photography | Madison, Wisconsin

I've always thought winter weddings had a magical feel to them. Maybe it's because the first winter wedding I ever attended was in the Colorado mountains and absolutely delightful. Brides and grooms don't often choose a winter wedding here in Madison, WI - at least from my limited 7 years of living here - but when I am lucky enough to photograph one, It's always a treat. Thankfully their day wasn't too cold and beautifully decorated for Christmas! Check out my favorite images I photographed for Maureen as her second photographer.

Barn Wedding Photography at Harvest Moon Pond | Poynette, WI

As I've been transitioning away from photographing family sessions and into booking up my summers with weddings, I've enjoyed being a second photographer for Maureen to fill in my summer schedule and keep up my craft throughout the summer. Here are some of my favorite images I photographed for her at the barn at Harvest Moon Pond!

At The Garden | Madison Family Storytelling Photography Session

I’m excited to share that I’ll be still doing family sessions (in addition to weddings) in 2015. I will be offering mini sessions this year, which will likely take place in the late summer or fall this year. Mini sessions will be the only time I will be doing posed family sessions. Aside from the sessions already on my schedule and the mini sessions, I will be focusing on Storytelling Sessions. These sessions take place in your home and in outdoor locations of significance following you along in some of your family routines. I want to be able to document a families life as it is now. Check out this abbreviated sessions from last summer and be on the lookout for several more that will be hitting this blog soon. Shared meal with neighbors, a walk to the community garden plot, and a whole lot of down to earth, no fuss kind of goodness. These people are my kind of people.
