The Barn at Casey's Colorado Wedding | Eric + Becky

Jordan and I had the privilege of documenting Eric and Becky's wedding in beautiful Colorado just outside of Woodland Park. The wedding was at The Barn at Casey's Lumber yard and they were surrounded by loving friends and family.

The day was gorgeous but we knew that storms were a very possibly threat. The great thing about Becky is that if she was stressed or worried, it didn't show and her smile and laugh was as wonderful as ever. As it turns out the rain and wind came in full force right as it was time for the ceremony to start. They were ready to see one another and made the tough decision to move everything inside the barn but that didn't stop them from having their perfect wedding day.  Little did we know that Becky's dad collected some of that rain water to give them during his speech (the best speech I've heard in a long time). This day was especially meaningful not just because Eric and Becky were joining lives and committing to one another but also because Becky was making a commitment to Eric's son as well. It's an honor to be asked to document that kind of love. This family was a true joy to work with and I trust these images will be treasured when they look back over the years.

Also, for this wedding Jordan and I did something new and exciting. It's not quite ready yet to share here but I wanted to give a little teaser to keep an eye out for more goodness from this wedding. We put our heart and soul into this wedding and I hope you enjoy seeing what we captured. Enjoy!

Colorado Wedding Photography at Cielo at Castle Pines | Chris + Natasha

Jordan and I have been Madison, WI residents for a little over 6 years now, but before getting married and moving to Wisconsin, we lived in Colorado Springs, CO where I grew up. Chris has been a long time friend of mine and Jordan and Chris were even roommates for a small time period. Natasha came on the scene around the time of our marriage and moving 1000 miles away but that didn’t stop us from growing a friendship with her. Chris and Natasha’s wedding was a long time coming and I couldn’t have been more honored to be their wedding photographer for the day (with Jordan documenting their day along side me). One thing I loved about Natasha is that she trusted my professional opinion and let me help with the planning! She would email me when she was considering X, Y, or Z venues to talk about the look of the venue and the potential for great natural light streaming in on their wedding day (since their wedding was planned for late October and for all we knew, it could have been freezing and snowing on their wedding day!) Ultimately Chris and Natasha chose the great venue Cielo at Castle Pines with the reception in Denver at Maggiano’s Little Italy at Denver’s 16th Street Mall. Some noteworthy details from the photographers perspective on their wedding day: 1) The way Chris looked at Natasha all day was super endearing. 2) I was super impressed by not only the interactions of Chris and Natasha with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, but also how wonderful the actual bridesmaids and groomsmen interacted with one another and had fun! Sometimes stress can run high and there can be odd tension or sometimes the bridal party isn’t really into it but this group rocked it and were some of my favorites! 3) Their reception not only had great food but had an intimate feel to it. They also had a super fun dance party that was totally unexpected given the amount of space we had for dancing. Chris and Natasha – your wedding was so fun and enjoyable to photograph! We couldn’t be more happy for the two of you and hope the best for many many years to come. Thanks for the honor of hiring us for your wedding day. Looking forward to photographing you two again soon!

Side Note: We aim to photograph 1-2 weddings a year in Colorado (Colorado Springs, Denver, or even further possibly). It works well for us because our loved ones are there and we can combine trips there to include work and play with family. We will be back in Colorado May 2015 to photograph a wedding. Contact us if you are interested in skyping about your Colorado Wedding!

Denver Cielo at Castle Pines Wedding | Chris + Natasha

When Chris and Natasha asked me to photograph their wedding I was beyond excited and honored. It's always validating when two creatives with great taste trust you with one of the most important aspects of their day - the one thing you can take away from the wedding that will bring back the flash of emotions and joy through each image.

Chris and I have been friends for years. We enjoyed many poker nights among all our friends. Natasha entered the scene right as I was leaving it (moved to Wisconsin from Colorado, right after getting married). I knew I liked Natasha right away and when they were still together several months... then a year... then several years... I knew she was the one he would choose, and I am so glad he did!

Jordan photographed this wedding with me and some of his gems are mixed in here. :)

Chris and Natasha - your wedding day was such a beautiful fall Colorado day and I love that you chose me to document it! We love you two and look forward to seeing what your future holds.
